First day of Preschool

Lotus had her first day of preschool on Wednesday. She will go to a Montessori preschool for kids ages 2.5-5 on Wednesdays and Thursdays. She was super excited to go to "big girl school", but I thought for sure there would be tears at drop off. However, the only tears came from her Mama. She sat right down at a table and started working on a puzzle. On Wednesday, she has music class and ballet class. Her teachers, Ms. Tammy and Ms. Jen reported that Lolo could name all of the instruments already and is very smart. Wednesday night she showed us how she played the violin. Here she is with her backpack getting ready to go:

Here she is with one of her first excercises she did at school. I like this picture because, at the top of the page are some of the first squares I've ever seen her draw:

Lotus' 3rd Christmas

We all had a very merry Christmas. Christmas Eve Jeff made a sushi dinner with bubble tea for desert for everyone. It was delicious. Then we opened presents! Lotus' favorite presents are her Ariel doll, "Belle baby" (that came with a matching dress up dress) and stroller pack-n-play set. The men got matching shirts.

Christmas Day Becky and Wes made a traditional Christmas dinner (sooo good), complete with Tofurkey. The kids must have been REALLY good because Santa Claus came to our house AND Mimi Poppop's house. Here they are with their stockings at Mimi's house:

Lotus still fits in her stocking (barely). Click here to see her in her stocking at her first Christmas.

A St. Joe Christmas in KC

This year all of our St. Joe family came to Mimi and Poppop's house to celebrate Christmas together. There were lots of kids and Lotus love it! Here is everyone opening their presents:

Binkygeddon

Friday, December 9, 2011 is a day that will be remembered in the Blizzard McClure house for years to come, AKA "BinkyGeddon." It is the day she slept for the first time without her precious and beloved binky since she first became attached to it at just a few weeks old. Here is a picture of this very event:

Lolo is starting at a Montessori preschool January 4th, which we are very excited about. This is a "big girl school" and as such, there are NO PACIFIERS ALLOWED, even during nap time. Lolo really wants to go to this school because she will have ballet class (with real ballet slippers and leotards, music class and also her BFF Ollie will go there as well, but in a different classroom.
The transition to no binkyness has gone realatively smoothly (we are very proud of our Lolo), the majority of days she falls asleep talking to herself for about 20 minutes. BUT we have had a few naptimes (and No naptimes) that have ended with discoveries like this bed full of lotion:

Christmas Fest 2011

This weekend, we put up our Christmas tree AND decorated our gingerbread house. Lotus really enjoyed talking about each ornament and where it came from before she put it on the tree. Here she is with her new found favorite "Gramma Bo book" (The Night Before Christmas that her Gramma taped reading to her), snowman and our tree.

While decorating the gingerbread house, I think Lo ate more candy than she has in her entire life. I got distracted once and looked over to see her with chipmunk cheeks full of sweets. Needless to say, she enjoyed it :)
