Who's idea was this anyway?

Oh wait... It was mine! Her new squeeky shoes are super fun! PopPop even says she likes to walk more now. We leave for the Jersey shore on Saturday, where the entire family is staying together in a Boardwalk Condo. We'll see if her squeeky shoes make it back in one piece!

One Year Stats

Lotus went for her one year check up last week, so here are her stats: Weight 80th %tile (23lb 9oz) and height 97th %tile (31.5 in). Dr. Hartman says her development is awesome! Lotus says the two shots she got were NOT awesome :( Here is Lotus at one of her favorite hobbies: swimming! This is the pool Grammy B bought her for her birthday. She loves it! Aunt B says that Lotus thinks she knows how to swim already. Almost every time we go swimming (which is at least a few times a week), Lotus ends up dunking herself all the way underwater. She is a true water baby!

Our One YEAR Old!

They say time flies when you're having fun, but time flies even faster when that fun is had with your baby! How wonderful our life is now that Lotus is in it! She is as sweet as pie and the happiest baby I've ever met. She has recently developped a little mama attachment, but hopefully it is just a phase. I wouldn't consider her a walker yet, more of a stumbler every once in a while. She knows seven words. Her favorite: Uh-oh. The others are whoa, DaDa, MaMa, Pop-Pop, GoGo, and Yeah. Her favorite foods are currently watermelon and cheese. We can't wait to see what next year brings with Lotus!


Aunt B has season passes to the KC Zoo, which includes a free guest, so we can go to the Zoo whenever we want! So fun! Here is Lotus and Ollie on their way to the Zoo on Monday. It was Lotus' first time riding in a forward facing car seat. She pretty much l-o-v-e'd it! In fact, it might have been the best part of the whole trip for her!

Happy Birthday Lotus!

Lotus had such a great birthday! Ollie came over in the morning to play, and then her mom made her favorite mac n' cheese with tofu hot dogs for lunch. After a nap the whole family headed to Lil' Monkey Bizness, which is like a huge indoor playground for toddlers. The babies had sooo much fun! Then we went to our favorite restaurant Eden Alley for dinner. Tomorrow is her big birthday party in the park!

One Year Later

My friend Jenness and I were in nursing school together and we were both SUPER pregnant when we graduated. Here we are one year ago at graduation:

Here we are with our babes! Isaac wouldn't look at the camera, and Lotus would not stop waving at it.

We took the kids to Deanna Rose Farmstead today where Lotus got to feed a baby goat with a bottle. The goats kept nibbling on us and even undid Lotus and I's shoes! We had so much fun! Tomorrow is Lotus' BIG birthday!
