Jeff and I have lived a block away from Antioch Park, where they have the annual Turkey Creek Festival, for 6 years and have somehow never actually made it to the festival until this year. It was a blast! We kidnapped Ollie and had a morning of fun including riding a "train" through the park, a giant inflatable Mickey Mouse clubhouse, paddleboating in the lake, petting zoo and a parade. Ollie's favorite part were the "pirates" in the parade and Lolo's favorite part was "Mickey Mouse". They both enjoyed their well balanced lunch of chocolate and vanilla ice cream cones, however their matching shirts didn't fair so well :)
I had a great Mother's Day. Jeff watched Lotus on Saturday so I could go Garage Sailing with Becky and my mom. Then Saturday night we had dinner at my parent's house followed by Yogurtini. Sunday Lotus and Jeff helped me plant my vegetable garden and Jeff even let me convince him to buy a new pair of shoes. I am so lucky to be the mom of such a wonderful little girl. Happy Mother's day Mimi and Gramma Bo, we love you soooo much!
We went on a field trip to Powell Gardens last week. It was also field trip day at the Gardens and that was Lotus' favorite part. She would have left on the buses with these kids if we'd have let her. Have I ever mentioned my daughter has no fear?
We drove to Wichita to meet Gramma Bo and the Argos over the weekend. Lotus had so much fun playing with her cousin Brody. She is still asking about Brody!
Lolo's new thing is giving names to every pretend person she encounters. From Bob the Builder = Daddy, to a gray haired doll = Mimi. Here she is with her new favorite doll set. The blond one is always Aunt B and the brown haired one is always Mama.
