Two Months Old!!

On Monday Lotus celebrated her 2 month birthday! She celbrated by going to the Dr for her 2 month check-up. Someone should have told her that was no way to celebrate! She had to get 3 shots and was pretty fussy afterwards. So fussy in fact that we had to wait till the next day to take her 2 month picture. She is getting so big! She weighed 13lb 9.5oz which is 97th percentile, she was 24 inches long which is 95th percentile and her head circumference was 40cm which is 80th percentile. The Dr said she is measuring up great and was impressed with how well she holds her head up. Lotus loves laying and "being free" on her play mat. She sleeps A LOT! She usually falls asleep around 9pm and doesn't wake up until about 2 am. Then she eats, gets a diaper change and goes right back to sleep. We are very lucky in that department. She loves sucking on her fingers, but still hates the pacifier. She eats like a champ and has been feeling really great lately! Lotus thinks is pretty cool that cousin Ollie gets a month older on the exact same day that she does and she wants to wish him a happy 10 month birthday!

Lotus is all geared up to fly to NJ next week for my Grandpa's birthday and to go to the seashore. She is hoping that cousin Ollie will share some of his mad swimming skills with her!

She is so precious when she sleeps!
She has become quite the smiler. Her favorite times to smile are when she just wakes up from a nap and whenever her mommy is trying to get her to go to sleep!

Anyone see any resemblance...at all? *sigh*

Happy 4th of July!

For the 4th of July we went to my parent's house and grilled kabob's and played bean bag. It was fun! Here is a picture of mini-Jeff/Jeff Jr. with her Daddy:

If Lotus ever runs for president this picture will come in handy:

Our One Month Old

On Friday July 3rd Lotus turned one month old! We celebrated by going out to lunch with her great Aunt Stena and cousins Annie and Logan. She had such a great day! The month has really flown by. Lotus loves being held and is still addicted to the swaddle. Her favorite song is Tori Amos Tear in your Hand. Whenever mommy plays it she calms down instantly. She holds her head up very well and is a very strong baby. She doesn't like her pacifier (much to mommy's dismay) or getting her clothes changed. She's beginning to smile and hopefully I can get it on camera soon. The jury is still out on the fancy swing her daddy bought her and bath time. Jeff and I are having a good time being her parents!

Firsts

We took Lotus to the park by our house (Antioch Park) for the first time in her stroller. She slept the whole time, but I think she'll really like it when she gets older. We are lucky to have such a cool park so close to our house.

This weekend our friends Amber and Joe came to meet Lotus for the first time. Lotus was such a good girl! Or maybe it was the new rattle that Joe fashioned for Lotus...

A few days ago we gave Lotus her first real bath instead of sponge baths. Her umblical cord took a long time to fall off. She loved every minute of the bath as you can see from the below picture. Check out her tele tubby belly button. No idea where she got that from!

Father's day Weekend

We had lots of visitors this weekend! The Benbens came in from St. Louis for a wedding and came in a day early to meet Lotus (Somehow I didn't get any pictures of this on my camera). Then Grandma Bo (Jeff's mom Bonita) came in from Dodge City to meet Lotus for the first time and stayed for the weekend. I think it was love at first sight!

Sunday it was my birthday and also father's day, so we went over to my parent's house for lunch. Here are some pics from their house:

This is the picture they took in the hospital. It is my favorite so far of Lotus!

Lotus went to the Eiffel tower recently and it wasn't as big in real life as she had imagined!

Guess who...

got to come home yesterday? Lotus! Yay! Lotus was discharged from the NICU at Shawnee Mission last night. We are so excited to have her home! She is doing great. Dad took the day off today so we could have some family time. We enjoyed our day. Here are some pics of Lotus coming home!
