Moving Madness

We had to say goodbye to the house Jeff and I were married in (literally in the backyard), my kids have spent their whole lives in and where 8 years of memories have been made. Our house sold after 36 hours on the market, for full asking price, woohoo! We bought a foreclosure that needs A LOT of work and had 11 days to move out. We moved in 4 hours with the help of some awesome family and friends.  It was quite a bit more difficult than the last time we moved sans children. Our new house is twice the size of our old one and the neighborhood is fantastic (walking distance to an excellent elementary school, city pool, library, park and tennis courts are all within walking distance). My most favorite thing about our new house is the sidewalks! The girls had no where to play and ride bikes in our old house with no side walks and our steep driveway. We're super excited for summer and lots of pool time. We're just hoping we have doors on the bathrooms by then. The previous owners literally stripped the house of everything (doors, sinks, faucets, stair spindles, light fixtures, etc). We have a lot of work ahead of us, but good thing I married Mr. fixit. We're super excited and so far we love our new house (aka The Money Pit). I'll post some before and after pictures soon!

Star Student

Lotus was the star student at her school last week. Here is the poster she made about summer and the bag of sweet messages her classmates made for her. 

Model Lolo

Lotus stop a in front of this light pole on our way into Aldi and said "mom take my picture like this" and this is how she posed. I think it's a pretty picture of her especially for an Aldi picture. 

Zoo Day

The first warm day in February I took the girls to the zoo. I had never seen the penguin exhibit, so was excited to see it. June especially like watching the animals.

Valentine's Day

The girls and I have the best Valentine in the World! Jeff made us a a Valentine that says "I love my girls" and brought us a box of chocolates. Lotus was extremely impressed! 

We went to Wonderscope with Penny and I drew hearts on their cheeks.

Lotus had a school assignment to make something out of trash. I suggested some easy binoculars out of TP rolls, but Lotus wanted to make a robot. Here she is with her "robot", which has become a 5th member of our family, reminiscent of "Wilson" from Castaway. Lotus feeds him, puts him to bed and talks to him.
