We met the Benbens in Columbia for a day trip. We played at the mall for a couple of hours, had lunch and then went swimming in an awesome indoor pool! How awesome that my two very first and best friends had kids who became my kids' very first and best friends! She's got his foot:

Wet Banana (?)
What's a wet banana you ask? Don't worry, I had to ask the same question when my husband said he was setting one up in the front yard. To everyone else this is known as a slip n' slide. Whatever you call it, it was a blast! The neighbors MJ and Zoe came over to slide with us too. Unfortunately, MJ and Zoe are moving away next week :(
Swim Lessons
Lotus had her first private swim lesson today with her teacher Stephanie. Before the lesson she said she was scared, I asked her why (thinking she would say something about new people, water, etc.), she said "I'm worried my teacher won't have a cute swimsuit on." Well, Stephanie's swimsuit must have passed because Lo did great! Stephanie said that most four year olds can't do half the stuff Lo could do and that she's advanced for her age! I guess all that time spent at Matt Ross has paid off. Juniper spent the time with me on the side lines, but she insisted on pulling herself up on the pool chairs. You can tell by that proud look on her face she thinks she's a big girl!
As we were leaving, Lotus said, "quick mom, take a picture of me on this rock."

Rainy and Pukey Day #7
Our last day in Ocean City Lo was still not feeling 100% and it was raining AGAIN! So, we opted for indoor mini Golf at Congo Falls. Lotus was more interested in climbing on the props than golfing. Then we walked the boards some more with the cousins, had crepes for lunch and went back for a nap. We played at the beach after the sun came out. We left around 8pm to head home to KC. We got home Saturday afternoon after a pretty easy drive. When we got home, the look on Juniper's face was priceless. it was "hey, i remember this place. this is my home!" She was so happy and excited to crawl around and explore, since she kind of learned to crawl while we were gone and had never crawled around our house before. Despite the rain and illness, we had a great vacation and enjoyed spending time with our family!
When we got home John came over to visit. Juniper is obsessed with him!

June Crawls!
While the rest of her family has been lazing around on vacation, June has been hard at work perfecting her crawling skills. She is quite proficient at it. May be time for the baby gates!
Side note: Please disregard the naked Penny booty.
(Rainy and Pukey) Day #6
Lotus was still running a fever today and had an upset stomach, so for most of the day we rested. She rallied by the afternoon and we watched a wicked and beautiful storm roll up over the beach. We went shoe shopping and Mimi bought her some adorable new Toms that she loves. My cousin Jon came to visit with his two kids Alexis and Nathan. We had the best time running around the beach and boardwalk with them. Tomorrow is our last day :(

(Pukey) Day #5
IWell, Lo, Ollie, Junie and I caught some kind of stomach virus. Lo and I laid in bed feeling crummy most of the day. We were able to rally in time for the Miss New Jersey parade on the boardwalk. The theme this year was Superheroes and villains. It was perfect for both Lo and Ollie. Lo's favorite was the Wicked Witch of the West float. We're hoping for a healthier day tomorrow!
