New Favorite Activity

Lotus has really mastered the art of the tricycle, we think it's from "riding the big bikes" at her school. Her Daddy picked up this tricycle at a garage sale for $2, and her mommy was a little skeptical of a tricycle named "the mongoose", complete with flames on the wheels. But, it has quickly become Lo's favorite thing to do.

The Magic House & STL

This past weekend Aunt B and I loaded up the kids and drove to St. Louis to visit the Benbens. Leslie bought the kids matching outfits, which was Lo's favorite. Elizabeth is only 6 months older than Lotus, so they had fun holding hands and playing with E's babies.

On Saturday, we went to the Magic House. My parents took us there when we were little and we were blown away with how much bigger it is now. My favorite was the "Jack and the Beanstalk" that let the kids climb up a beanstalk in the middle of three flights of stairs, very cool. Lotus says her favorite was painting. Happy Halloween!

On Sunday Lolo debuted her Foofa (from Yo Gabba Gabba) costume and went with Daddy, Aunt B, Uncle Wes and Ollie (the spider), to trick or treat trail at Matt Ross Community Center (our pool/gym). I hear it was very busy but super fun! On Halloween, Lo and Ollie got so much candy! Lo got 41 pieces (we had to count it). She was a very polite trick or treater, saying "trick or treat" and "thank you" at every house. We can't believe what a difference a year makes!

Fall Bliss :)

(Small preface: My sister is always titling her blogs "______ Bliss", so the title of this blog is a shout out to her. Love you B!)

Lotus is obsessed with ALL things Halloween. She loves telling "spooky stories". Her favorite story to tell goes like this: "One Halloween night, Lolo and Ollie ate the wicked witch!" Sometimes, they get eaten and sometimes they do the eating. She loves wicked witches!
We have really been taking advantage of the beautiful fall weather. Last weekend we went to Schaake's pumpking patch in Lawrence. Lolo and Ollie got lost in the haunted maze and launched pumpkins with a sling shot.

One of her other favorite Halloween things to do is carve pumpkins. Her Daddy and her carved a wicked witch (what else?) and it came out really good! Last year Aunt B/Uncle Wes/Ollie gave us a giant inflatable stack of pumpkins for Jeff's birthday. We thought it was kind of silly and kept meaning to return it, but we're glad we didn't. Lolo is obsessed with it. She has to say good morning and goodnight to "Mr. Pumpkin".

Today my work sponsored a day at Deana Rose Farmstead. The weather was awesome, we went on a hayride to "Pumpkin Hallow", fed the goats and mined for gold.
P.S. Here's one last cute Lolo story. Lo spilled a full glass of cold milk on her lap while she was eating lunch. As I was cleaning her up, she was kind of whining a little, so I said, "Lotus, use your words." And she said, "Shiver me timbers!" clear as day. So hilarious!

P.P.S. Lotus has a new baby cousin, Brock! We can't wait to meet him! Congratulations Argo's!

Happy Birthday Ollie!

At the beginning of October,we drove down to Oklahoma to celebrate Ollie's 3rd birthday at his grandparent's house. Lotus had so much fun at Ollie's Thomas the Train party eating cake, launching stomp rockets, running around in the country and roasting Tofu Pups and Mimi and Pop-Pop's campsite.

Gymnastics

Lolo had her first Gymnastics class this weekend. She loved it! Her favorite was the "bear crawl" that her and Ollie are doing in this video. She also liked doing somersaults on the trampoline, the balance beams and having races with her classmates. We can't wait to go back next Saturday!

Deanna Rose Farmstead

Have I ever mentioned how much I love only working 3 days a week? I get to spend so much time with Lolo and take her on fun field trips like Deanna Rose. Deanna Rose Farmstead is a fun and free place to visit. There are all sorts of animals to pet and feed. Lotus took her turn at feeding the "bad baby goats" (they were a little aggressive so Lotus thought they were bad) a bottle. We started feeding them inside the fence and had to move to outside the fence when things got a little too intense. Here are some pictures of Lolo at the Farmstead.
