Powell Gardens

Aunt B is back in school now :( (as Ollie would say, "double drats"), so my mom and I took Ollie and Lotus on a field trip to Powell Gardens on Wednesday. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful spot. Here are some of the highlights:

Singin' in the Rain

Lotus played in the rain for the first time a couple of weeks ago at Grammy and PopPops. All of the adults were hiding out in the garage, from the pouring rain. Lotus had a hayday, Ollie was not so sure. Here is the video:

5th Anniversary!

What?!?! A post that's not ALL about Lotus? Jeff and I recently celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary by having our first kid-free overnight. We had dinner at Jerusalem Cafe, bubble tea at Tea Drops, then drinks and shuffleboard at Buzzard Beach. We stayed the night at Chateau Avalon in the Mayan Rainforest themed room. It was such a fun night! Here is what Lotus was up to while her parents were away:

Cozy Coupe

I remember playing in my Cozy Coupe when I was little and how sad I was when I couldn't fit in it anymore. So, I've wanted to get one for Lotus for a couple of months now. I wanted a used one because of cost and for environmental reasons. I was just starting to think about giving in and buying her a new one when a girl at my work told me she had one for her, yay! Anyways, here she is loving her new Cozy Coupe, which is pink and purple...perfect!

Lotus News

Poor Lotus has been a sick little girl lately. She had a cold which turned into an ear infection, and then last Sunday she had a febrile seizure (a seizure brought on by a fever, common in children under 5, but still super scary)! Poor baby and poor Daddy who was home alone with her when it happened. She got on some antibiotics and is feeling much better now, but not before getting hand, foot and mouth disease. Being a parent is so stressful sometimes! We think she is finally on the mend and acting like her old self again. Here is a pic of her and mama recovering:

Many of you probably don't know this but, Lotus' daddy makes the best sushi in the whole world! He is a true sushi chef, only vegetarian of course. Here is Lolo eating her new favorite food:

Ocean video

Aunt B posted lots of video from their trip across country to NJ. The first video on their blog is of Lotus and the ocean. She was fearless, curious and happy as usual!

Jersey Shore 2010

On Saturday we got back from an AWESOME family vacation in Ocean City, NJ. Lotus loved everything we did not the trip, but especially the ocean. She also rode on a surry, a huge Ferris wheel, swam in the pool and walked the boards. Here are some of the cutest pictures from the trip. Click on this link for the rest of the pictures.
